The NEWS (via RSS) for the GNU coreutils project only gives a very brief summary of new features without linking to the associated discussions. Also it doesn't mention ideas that were rejected which are often very informative, nor ideas that are agreed upon, but not yet implemented. To this end I'm summarising discussions from the mailing lists every quarter or so (subscribe via RSS). Note also the bug tracker, that has been integrated with the mailing list since 26 Mar 2010.
